Our Staff

Gillian Alexa McCabe, Ph.D. (she/they)

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who works with adults navigating identity, relationships, and the messy, meaningful parts of being human. My experience includes treating depression, anxiety, trauma, OCD, anger, and challenges related to grief, body image, and disordered eating. I also specialize in LGBTQIA2S+ mental health, women’s issues, and neurodivergence, and I strive to create an affirming space where you can explore who you are and who you want to become.

My clinical approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the interplay between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and how they shape your experience of the world. I integrate this foundation with queer and feminist theory, attachment-based work, and narrative therapy. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth, with an emphasis on understanding your patterns, building insight, and making changes that feel both meaningful and sustainable.

I’m originally from Chicago and earned my master’s degree in social psychology from Oakland University, where I researched pathological personality traits and interpersonal dynamics. I completed my PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Kentucky, studying how we classify and understand personality disorders. Outside of my clinical work, I’m a longtime anime fan, love attending comic cons, and enjoy exploring new creative interests—parts of my life that keep me curious, open-minded, and connected to the communities I care about.

In my sessions, I aim to bring that same curiosity, warmth, and authenticity into the room. Therapy doesn’t have to feel sterile or intimidating—real growth happens when you feel safe enough to show up fully as yourself. That’s the kind of space I work to create with every client.

Amber Roberts, LPCC

It is essential to me to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients to help promote a safe and comfortable healing environment.  I encourage my clients to be advocates for their own well-being. I am a faith-based clinician that feels therapy is most successful when the spiritual aspect is integrated with other evidenced-based practices. It is my goal to help clients find their purpose and achieve the steps set forth in their counseling journey.

I have experience working in a variety of settings (private practice, schools, and prisons) and providing care to clients of all acuity levels. I see individuals from the age of 13 and up.  Some of the issues I address are:

Trauma, Anxiety Disorders, Relationship Issues, Mood Disorders (Depression, Bipolar Disorder), Sexual Addiction, Gender Identity Issues
